As a full-time professional commercial and portrait photographer, Sabrina understands the challenges and opportunities photographers experience in the increasingly competitive photography industry. Her involvement in education is both a part of her path to self-improvement and a way to give back to the industry by helping photographers defend their work, earn fair compensation, and create beautiful photography.
Sabrina's teaching is grounded on the solid foundations of running a successful business and her relentless commitment to building quality with an artistic vision. She strongly advocates for continuous education and believes in the transformative power of image competition to enhance photographers' craft. As a result of her own experience, she has learned to tap into her day-to-day work to leverage her competition skills and create value for her clients.
Sabrina has chosen a traditional, in-person teaching style to help others rediscover the value of personal connection as a driver of effective learning. Her hands-on teaching focuses on equipping photographers with the skills and confidence needed to refine their work, navigate the competitive landscape, and expand their creative potential while making a living from their work or earning artistic recognition if that's their focus.
Sabrina has received numerous awards in both national and international photography competitions. Most recently, she had the honor of being selected as a member of Team USA 2025, representing the country in the prestigious World Photographic Cup. Sabrina has also been named Houston Master Photographer of the Year 2024 and 2023 at the Professional Photographers Guild of Houston, and has earned Best Commercial Image 2024 and Best Architecture Image 2022 and 2023 at the Texas Professional Photographers Association annual image competition.
She has also won numerous awards at IPC, including gold and bronze medals in commercial and natural portrait categories during the 2024 edition of the contest.
Sabrina achieved her Master of Photography degree from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and holds her CPP certification with the same organization. She is now in the process of becoming a PPA-approved juror, where she looks to help other photographers grow their work with direct feedback in the PPA Merit Image Review (MIR) program and photography competitions all over the country.
Sabrina's growing involvement in the industry has led her to successfully run for a council position at the PPA as a representative for the state of Texas, where she will start her three-year term in 2025, looking to represent all Texan photographers while helping to shape the standards of the professional photography industry.
Sabrina has been shooting with Canon since the very beginning of her career. She loves her Canon cameras and lenses, and she is also a skilled user of the Adobe Creative Cloud platform, from Lightroom and Photoshop to Premiere Pro.
